The Long Barn, before conversion…..

The Long Barn in Maulden, Bedfordshire was to be completed over 2002-2003, initially as a home for Nicolas Tye to live in but then also to start his architectural practice. The barn was to be a test bed of ideas from central vacuum systems, central air filtration systems, commercial lighting in a residential setting, floating aluminium velcro plastic panelled walls, inside to outside flowing pebbledashed walls, organic paint, non toxic laquers and the like.
