Manchester Museum

Located in the heart of this great city, Manchester, against the backdrop of the canal, was a vacant city block awaiting new intervention.

Our proposals looked to provide a new cultural hub by creating a design with a combination of physical forms which twist and turn the urban grid whilst creating a series of piazza’s to generate installation locations for sculptural art works.

Using blackened corten steel and glass these forms provide specific viewing points and light to internal spaces creating intrigue and enticement of the environment, providing shafts of light internally and vista views from vantage points in and around the canal side area.

A place where artefacts and objects from museums and collectors are sorted, categorised, databased and displayed for all.
