This new extension to the existing leisure centre for Impulse Leisure provides a new fitness gym incorporating its own reception, areas for warm up, cardiovascular and resistance equipment, free weights area and changing facilities.

The fitness gym is located on the site of a previous extension that was demolished and removed as part of the works replaced with a cost effective steel portal structure with a brick and metal clad envelope.

The building enabled a large open plan space to be provided broken up into the separate functions with flat screen media walls. With the absence of a ceiling, a white soffit to the underside of the roof was provided and suspended lighting rafts was installed over key areas.

This provided a cost-effective solution whilst creating an industrial aesthetics exposing ventilation ducts and services and a bright palette of colours.
