Located in a quadrant of London stock housing in Wandsworth, this site of a long standing MOT station and parking was in significant disrepair and providing noise disturbances to the local residents. As such, a logical solution of a well-considered compact residential scheme meant a more in keeping solution to the site and for its surroundings. As the area was a conservation area and with close proximity to local houses, the site needed careful consideration for its surroundings and its neighbouring relationships. With the additional constraints of protected trees and overlooking windows, the strategy was a low lying and timber clad based external solution which then had windows and rooflights strategically placed to maximise the opportunity of the site and also provide privacy to the neighbouring houses.
