Turvey House - Bedfordshire
One-Off Houses, Residential Architects
This historical house did require a lot of demolitions around it due to the long line of numerous extensions with poorly made solutions over the last 100 years. Our brave clients wanted something special for this location that would be bold and brave.
The solution was to retain the most historical core of the building, but then float this new building alongside it.
Using Corten steel and elegant detailing, the building is a fantastic innovation in its countryside location, reminiscent of rusty metalwork agricultural implements.
The end solution is an astonishing L-shaped building against the historical core overlooking the existing ancient pond.
