Located in the grounds of a grade 2 listed manor house, the proposals were created on the basis that our clients wished to downsize but to remain within the grounds where they had grown up through generations.

The proposals were based on the concept of a bothy building but also of a building which related to the nearby greenhouse structures where the clients could then continue to enjoy their passion for horticulture. Over three floors with disabled access and a lift, accommodation was provided for children and grandchildren to all come together in one single dwelling.

The proposals are based on Passivhaus principles with ground source heat pumps, solar panels, high levels of insulation and airtightness, and MVHR air systems.
